hey guys,
after the heat here in shitney the past few days aircon has been in overdrive, and i realised while using it that the condensor fan is not firing up at all. I may of been driving around for months like it. Will it make a difference if its there or not. It didnt over heat even with the 41 degree temperature.
Cheers
EDIT: Sorry its a TD42 Patrol

condensor Fan keep or not to keep
Keep it, makes a fair difference around town when slow moving.... I think it's something like up to 60km/h it is pushing air quicker than it is going through from your speed. Don't quote me on that speed though, it may be lower, can't quite remember.

proberly helps but not super imortant. My ute has never had one fitted since I've owned it, 2001. It is td42 with 12mm injector pump and 17psi boost, FMIC and stock gearing on 37" tyres. I have run it up and down ranges in alot of heat in QLD with shagged standard radiator without a A/C thermo.blackmav wrote:I'm sure it would help deplace a fair bit of heat, but I havn't been running one for years. Took mine off to run a front mount I.C.
Never gets above 1/4 unless doin exessive speed, but thats a over fueling issue.
Ok the condensor fan is to keep the a/c temperature down in the system, not to cool the radiater. If you arent moving then you get high working pressures in the a/c system and the compressor can cut out electronicaly. So if your in 45 degree heat in a traffic jam, it is better for your a/c system to operate with the fan working. Its job is to cool the liquid refridgerant in the condensor.

What he said, the condensor fan is not big enough to cool the radiator.
Also if the pressures get to high in the AC system then you risk blowing something up.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.
Well they are all following you...
No they ain't, I'm just in front...............
