Hi Just after good/bad points on Navara D40 Diesel manual. Thinking about buying one. Test drove auto one today feels underpowered but according to specs 403nm of torque just thought it might have gone better.

what year did you test drive?
new autos run DPF's and are tuned a bit less than the older ones.

common faults, chew brakes out fairly quick, clutches are weak, paint problems. afaik no hubs or ADD system so room for improvement there. the switchs controlling the the 4x4 are known to break esaly.

I've had my 5/07 model since brand new & absolutly love it.
We tow our comp truck with it on a regular basis & in my oppinion hauls ass! Generally sit on a 1.10-1.20 towing with ease.

Brakes - well we have 75k out of the first set.
Diff - we have never had drama with our rear
Clutch - No issues with the clutch.. appart from ridiing it on a hill start & have it fade, but the net time we had to use it .. all good.

i do find the turbo lag on it to be a pain in the ass .. but apart from that i have no issues at all. If the car was ever in a major accident & written off, i would have NO hessitation in getting another one to replace it.
