They have 135 ltr std capacity you can get a 180 ltr sub tank if you mount the spare on the back, that gives you about 270 ltrs all up

Front diff isues??
the 80 sseries has the same front diff as the 100 series I have heard there have been a few fail though myself and friends have never experienced this, most of the failures are to do with back lash due to worn splines and cv breaking off road(after lockers are fitted)
i would not say that this is a weak point of the truck though
any how a part ime kit will reduce some of these

there is no factory turbo diesel available in the 105 (live axle).
the only diesel option is the 1HZ(4.2 non turbo) and unlike the nissans the 1HZ is a very different engine to the 1HDFTE(factory turbo engine)
the 1HZ has 96 kw the 1hdfte 151kw and heaps more torque with better fuel enconomy due to its electronicly controlled direct injection

You can fit and aftermarket kit to a 1HZ but it will not be as powerful, fuel effcient or last as long as a 1HDFTE
It is well noted that turboing a 1hz will reduce its life and if up in km not a good idea

I believe the ultimate 100 series would be a 105 with a 100s td wiring loom and engine fitted
real shame toyota never made it

so the cheapest option would be to get a 105 petrol (4.5l six) put a long range tank in it

if you fit gas you will not be able to do desert crossings as easy because this will reduce the amount of petrol you can carry with out jerry cans
due to the tank installation.

as fuel is cheap for you this would be the way to go

good info here
