Please note that we have had to do a date change as it is Labour Day long weekend on March 7-9 and I am sure many like to go away with their families.

So...

The new competition dates are 14-15 March 2009.
Stiletto Camp dates remain the same.

Myself (Trish) and Bec bottomley will be entering this event, great to see that you have made it chicks only. I think ,to that i would be more comfortable having wally as my nav No offence Bec but without him beside me and having Bec both of us will learn a tonne more step out of our comfort zones and get great experience that we would not get with our partners next to us, sometimes the best way to learn is to just do it yourself. For those Guys not willing to let their partners use their trucks shame on you, us women support you guys doing your sport so how about a bit of trust and support in return, and if you think your missus will have difficulty with the truck then take her out for some practice to get her confidence up and your own, we just have, i just drove places that i never thought i would and feel great about my achievements so i say to all those guys out there let them have a go

looking forward to it

Trish

i think male nav and let the misses drive would be good idea, wouldn't feel comfortable bout throwing the misses and her navi the keys to my race truck, to much could go wrong$. if i could nav atleast and offer advise would be safer for all
I'm with pete on the first point - it has to be said that this sems to be the case more and more with "events" over the last few years.

As for the second point - I have a solution. It's so simple it's odd no one worked it out.

Use the Boot camp as the mixed training!! That way Gals can get confidence(and guys with $ trucks) with the guys on day 1, Evening 1 should be chick team bonding acitivities and Days 2 & 3 should be team training with guys on radio backing up the teams with lines etc...

Putting the foot down is one thing, but making the most of ensuring people ENTER with partners support sems to be logical but also sensible??

Anyway top idea, best of luck, and keep it simple and focussed on what the event is about for now - training in the CCDA way and exposure to why guys bring cars home bent... :D
80 Series Turbo - the Toy car...
XR6 Turbo - the work car...
XW wagon - the dogs car...

Stilleto Bootcamp

Post by nathan114 »

Hi,
Are people allowed to come up for Bootcamp even if they are not part of a team?

I may be able to help out even if you need some extra help over the weekend?

Not sure if people who are not part of a team will be able to come to boot camp. The best bet would be to send Mrs Smith (Mel) a private message and ask. Im sure they would love to have any available help they can get. I may be mistaken but i think they will be doing marshall training then aswell.

It is a shame that we can't make it down for the Stilleto camp and meet up with everyone, but I can't wait to get down there and have some fun.

How many competitors do you think you will end up with?

PS How far from the airport is the event?

Myself & Wayne will be running the Ontrack Super Special Stage (summer special) again during the stilletto camp.

The SSS will start sunday morning and will be basically the same course as the last time.
The last time the Ontrack SSS was invite only for a dozen people and although we will limit numbers this time round we are accepting nominations for entries now.
If you think its for you and you have a CCDA spec truck then give myself or Wayne a PM or call to register your intrest. last SSS we only had 3 people finish!!

for those that are not sure what this stage is about. We have joined about 10 of the ateco winch challenge together with tulip notes. cars leave at 2 minute intervals and can overtake on the tracks or whilst winching. the last SSS it was wet and teams winched around 18 times!!!!

Happy New Year Ladies.

The official name for the comp is now the...... "Lightforce Chick Winch Challenge"........

Lightforce have come on board as our major sponsor and 1st prize will have a product value of over $4000 - $2000 value for both driver and navigator! (Even more reason for the boys to hand over the keys).2nd and 3rd prizes are good too.

Check out the latest issue of DirtComp magazine for the article and check out the picture of a couple a couple of teams. Thanks to Rough Rider and Dirty Black Mav for your input.

The article features Keith the Kangaroo. He will represent the humanitarian side of the comp as Lightforce donate all the profits from sales of Keith to charities.

I really now need to get numbers together so that I can start organising shirts, decal numbers etc so if you are going to compete then pop me an email at chickwinch@hotmail.com I will also be emailing out to all of you who have expressed interest.

If you don't know already - entry forms are available from the CCDA website.

Also note that you will need to be full CCDA members (not family) in order to do the Stiletto Camp and Comp. Let me know if you need any assistance with this.

I would appreciate a fully refundable deposit of $100 per team entry payable by the Stiletto Camp. You can pay the remainder up to 1 week before the event.

I will be listing the teams on the forum as I get them so that you will know who is competing.

Sponsor listing will be added shortly as well.

Some people have been asking if the can come and watch the Stiletto Camp. The answer to this is only if you are invited by a team and added to the Stiletto Camp entry form. The Stiletto Camp is free to each competitor (driver and navigator $300 value per team). Anyone else that comes along will need to pay $20.

I will be in contact shortly with those who have offered assistance for both the Camp and the Event. If anyone wishes to be involved in the running of the event in any capacity then drop me a line as well.

A reminder that CCDA Marshal Training will be occurring on the same weekend as the Stiletto Camp. This is also free and at the moment there are only 6 people attending. .If you are interested please contact Leon Jones ASAP on either 0411 131 929 or at lvjonesathome@aol.com

Contact me if you need anything further.

Drop the price & you might get a few more entries.

I thought this was going to be a bit of a fun event like the Ontrack SSSSSSS,
not a full on Winch Challenge event.

But that is just my opinion & I am just a dum male

x2

I also think the event is a bit too restricted. If male co-drivers were allowed you would have some more competitors. Alot of guys have spent tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars on their cars and would feel alot better lending it our to their partners if they were allowed in their cars with them.

You could have 2 classes one for female co-drivers and one for male co-drivers if people weren't happy racing against each other.

I also think you need to run Production and Challenge classes seperately.

I'm not sure what the right answer is, but just my opinion.
