front end problems

Post by alki »

My auto hubs don't seem to be working properly.
I had airlockers fitted last month and after few trips when I engage 4wd,front wheels wouldn't turn,so I got out and locked them in manualy and it worked.
After doing that I started hearing clicking noise from front end.
Went to nissan and they said that it's very common for instalers to install hubs other way around and that's why they don't lock.
Now that clicking noise is what bothers me,nissan dealer will have a look at the hubs next week(and I'll have to pay for it) but I'm just thinking if I broke CV joint, becouse noise seems to be coming more from the center of the front end.
Anyone had similar experiences?

you will find the auto loking hubs will start to fail after a while, your better off going out an geting manual ones, my old man had em on his GU, and after a few trips they began to lock on the freeway, which mad a loud ticking noise as the centre tried to rotate a non turning shaft at 100kms/h

They had told other guy to have a look but he didn't really know what he's looking at(that's what he told me)
