Nice fit. Davies Craig hey, that'd have some flow to it, your fabrication looks great. Anyways just got rid of the exhaust and put in a straight pipe from the dump back to the rear tyre and dumping out on the left side. Whoa, she's got some power now, its making 13psi now (up from 10) turbo kicks in at 1400-1500 instead of 1900. Also before at about 3500 rpm it wouldn't flow enough and put back pressure on the turbine, dropping power sharply. Now it flows nicely at 13psi upto 4500 rpm. There's so much more torque now, gets the back end out around roundabouts now :)

Worth the money spent, all done (inc exhaust) for about $1000.

I have a custom made W/Air IC designed buy myself and a friend who did the fabrication and welding. It use's four cores and a flow divider to split the air evenly accross all the cyliders. I used the frozen boost heat exchanger and the bosch pump on a boost pressure switch and a manual overide switch. It is working very well even here in Darwin there is no black smoke visible at full throttle on take off and I am getting 94kw at the wheels with standard pump and 850ft/lb torque, the problem is it runs to lean, EGT's don't get over 400C in the dump pipe so there is room for alot more fuel, Air fuel ratio gets up to 20:1 at full boost.
My Questions are;
A. Will a GU boost compensated pump bolt straight onto my GQ SWB TD42?
B. Does anyone know where I can get a bigger plunger fitted here in Darwin?
C. How do I post pic's?

Looks like a good fit. Yeah Brad, exhaust was from bob-parks aitkenvale. It's only 2 1/2, i can't fit a larger dump pipe in due to the PTO winch drive shaft.

How is this kit going? Have you had any problems with it and changes?

If your talking about mine it is going well. Have had to plate it to handle more pressure though, (26psi). Producing 166RWhp. The water temp sits at 100 deg F normal driving around Darwin, 120 deg F on the hwy at 120km/hr.

My kit is going strong after about 20K, including Lake Eyre and Cape York, Cape Melville etc. Have a minor leak in the heat exchanger ATM due to a fan mount rubbing but that's no big deal.

Overall very happy with it. EGTs are pretty low unless I'm on a real long hill on a real hot day and the power and torque are excellent. It runs to a bit over 15 psi boost but I try not to get there too often with a 400000 km old engine....

I have just finished installing my frozenboost intercooler to my 2000 Patrol TD42t. I will get the car properly tuned soon and put it on the dyno. I have played a little with the max load screw on my injector pump and the boost setting. I have noticed a big improvement with turbo lag and the EGT is down a fair bit. It seems my boost controller doesn't work very well. It was just a cheap $30 controller from ebay.

Anyone found any good manual controllers that aren't too expensive?

Here are some pics

GFB (Go Fast Bits) or TurboSmart. I don't think that a $50 saving on a part like this is worth risking the longevity of a TD42, or turbo for that matter.

Which core did you use?

I have been looking at the type 10 and the rad in the front type 100

has anyone found a temp switch or sender that screws into the frozen boost type 100 heat exchanger empty socket?

I tried the tridon catalogue and no good and i really need it as compact as possible (mounted onthe tray - dont want it knocked off)

The thread is 1/8 - 27 NPT

The kit only took about 2 weeks to get here from the states.

Thanks Coxy321 i'll look into the GFB and turbosmart controllers.
My controller seems to surge then drop back.

I used a type 10 intercooler
type 100 heat exchancer with 2 x 10 inch thermo fans on the back of it.
I originally ordered a type 117 intending on installing it in front of the radiator on the drivers side. I tried to fit it and would have had to cut out a section of the top cross member so I ordered the type 100 and went for a tray mount instead.
My mate owns a GQ and he would have plenty of room for either type in the front but the GU's are very limited for space.

G'day Welchy long time no see.
I haven't installed a temp switch or a sender but would be interested if you find one that is compact.

i used a type 100 radiator. I mounted the rad with falcon swaybar rubbers as vibration insulators.

Installed a GFB atomic boost controller. Works great doesn't spike at all.
