Have you been speaking to some of my mates? If not you've got a 6th sense.

Went out for a quick play on saturday and kinda did just that. Wasn't getting any drive to the front for some reason. Mucked around trying to suss it out there, but couldn't work it out. Got home and had a better look over a couple of beers and it suddenly hit. I was putting the bloody xfer in 2L every time.

ARB Aust Day Weekend was my first spectate of a comp other than rock crawling and it was totally disapointing, would have been fun participating but for spectating it pretty much sucked, can anyone tell me if this was pretty normal or did i luck out on a shit weekend. I know the hill climb was cancelled but surely the hill climb isn't the main event. Maybe i had an incorrect perception but i expected to see 4wd's 4wheelin, not racing around on a track. The barrel race would have been a bit of fun for a laugh after a main event, but as a main event for the day, it seemed bit silly as the trucks were not set up for barrel racing and so they couldn't even get around the coarse properly, there was a zook that performed, but is a little truck, heaps grunt, low lifted, smallish not so agressive tryes and a good driver (so was set up for that type of event) the rest were big trucks lots of lift, big aggressive tyres, begging to find a big nasty hill.
Safety for spectators was a low consideration also.
Just my 2 bobs worth.

i was wondering the same thing. Did the rain cancel a heap of activities?
nothing happened sunday (long ass gymkhana daytime) but no night activity?

also id like to add i havent been to landcruiser park for over a year, and
its seriously turned into a dump with the amount of rubbish left about.

I didnt go this year, but was there in 2008. Yes, the hillclimb is the main event, and under lights was excellent spectating. After the hillclimb the floodlights were towed to the pig pen and a party kicked off. Was very entertaining to watch. The barrell race and gymkhana's dont interest me so during the day i went wheeling with the mates.

Hi kitacooch,
Yes the Hill climb was the main event for Saturday. It is normally a good event. Would have gone if intercooler had not died.
You should check out a winch challenge or all terrain challenge if you want to see wheeling. They usually don't get canceled due to wet weather either.
Anyway. The events are only a part of what makes LCMP a good destination.
My kids even keep themselves occupied when the racing is not happing. If they can do it. Anyone can. (on bald 20" tyres:D )

The ARB Australia Day weekend, turned out a little different then original plans, as the rain caused events to be cancelled. The Hill Climb was cancelled on Saturday night due to the track conditions and the safety of competitors and spectators.

The Hill Climb, Coopers Rally, Barrel Race and the family fun events were the only events advertised to happen on the weekend.

The large barrel race under lights was a make up for this cancellation to give the crowd something to watch, and was only planned after the cancellation of the Hill Climb, by myself and Fester. As All 4X4 Parts had kindly donated $1000 cash prize for the Hill Climb, Fester wanted to see someone win the money.

Never in 20 years of fun and 4wd'n at Landcruiser Mountain Park, have we had so many morons in the Park at one time. We were appalled by the drunken yobbo behaviour of so many people, which ruined and upset the remaining 90% of well behaved people.

Do we have to change the rules completely at Landcruiser Park to make people behave themselves? Rules like no driving after 8:30pm at night or before 7:00am in the morning? Absolutely no noise in camping areas after 10:30pm? And policing the .05BAL on all drivers? Or would it be easier to shut the front gates and not allow anyone in?

As for the comment about the rubbish in the Park, we are sick and tired of picking up after every other lazy person. Whether it's around their camp fire of thrown out the window of their car, bins are supplied, use them! The amount of glass bottles and cans thrown from the windows of vehicles as they are driving around the tracks and in particular at the Pig Pen is beyond belief.

And thanks to the theiving mongrel that stole the water pump from the big dam at the bottom of Telecom Hill, that pumps water to the showers and toilets, which was taken on Saturday night, and on the topic of theft, how desperate are some people to steal lights from the toilet blocks.

In 20 years of operating the Park, I have never been so angry enough to make a comment about the behaviour, and I have just about had enough.

To the 90% of the well behaved people here over the weekend, we thank you for spending your weekend with us, and sorry about the other 10%'s behaviour (or was it 20%).

In future we will either have Police presence or Security in the Park on all event weekends.

Well said................The hill climb was cancelled after discussing it with some competitors by Alben and myself. We put the large barrel race on for the entertainment of the spectators and for the competitors who came to put on a show and for the prize money (some had come down from rockhampton). There were plans for commentry / music / and a non advertised pigpen party. I find it a real shame that the people doing the right thing had to miss out but do hope they understand that we had to use marshells / some spectators and some of the competitors just to keep the non thinkers from getting themselves run over. There was no shortage of bunting around the area as we all know it does not stop cars but we all understand not to cross it.....SOME PEOPLE DONT GET IT....

G'day all, i am an Outer Limits 4X4 newbie who would like to share his Australia Day weekend at Landcruiser Mountain Park . My name is Blocka, i'm the one you see cleaning shower's and toilets, and doing ongoing maintenance at the park. I have been doing this for Alben and Helen for many years now, they are truly great people to work for and they care very much for their staff and visitors to their park.

SUNDAY 25 JAN
Early morning cleaning of all toilet/shower blocks.
Cleaned and got portable toilets ready for COOPERS STADIUM
Replace shower curtains(ripped off rails)
Replace shower rose(broken off)
Listen to complaints about (noise, fireworks, dangerous driving, doughnuts etc)
Catch and talk to a DONUT DOER
Brekky (Yeah! thanks missus P, always great)
Go to fill water tanks (SHIT, NO PUMP)(I guess someone needed it more than we did, THEIVING PR@#K)
Back to get a spare pump and fill tanks.
Another DONUT DOER
Clean shower's/toilets(appreciated all the mud on walls, ceilings and doors)
Replace broken toilet seat
DONUT DOER
Clean rubbish (bins and camping areas)
Clean hill climb area (1 1/2 hrs, not very hard to place rubbish in bin or in your vehicle)
Pump out shower water from holding tanks.
You guessed it DONUT DOER
Another shower curtain (same shower cubicle)
Another shower rose
Another DONUT DOER

NOT EVEN MIDDAY YET

This is not at all exagerated, it is actually understated so as not to bore you.

MONDAY 26 JAN
see SUNDAY plus add, pull up young child driving on main park road (responsible parent).

What i am trying to say is, that this was the worst weekend for idiots i have seen at the park.

I truly feel for the families and to the visitors who come to have a fun time and have to put up with this behaviour.
To these people, please come again.
To the idiots and theives, STAY HOME (we don't want you at the park)

Cheers

Blocka

Unfortunately, this is what happens when some people mix drinking and judgement together...........
Some people dont have the ability to make the right judgement even when there sober so what chance do they have when there pissed, and that also goes for touching/taking stuff that does not belong to them. i have seen this on mass at 4wd comps and people that know me know what im talking about and where im talking about.
Keep up the good work LCMP, dont let DK Heads wreck it for the 1,000000000000 other good folk that enjoy your park

Hi, Alben and Blocka, My mane is Chris, Now i have been going to the park for years now, and love it, think you guys do a wonderfull job and i dont abuse the park.

However ( i know this got sorted not long after) but, when i was heading back from cowa falls after a nice swim, my mates dual cab lux broke down, i towed him from just outside cowa to tekka, wich was our camp. Upon approaching that camp site i selected 2nd gear low, and i have crawlers, so thats pretty slow and proceeded through the bottom end of the camp ground, come to a bunch of ppl, so i slow even more, the i get asked to stop quite rudely.. Then from there my afternoon got worse, i got grabbed through the window of my truck and pulled towards the window, i broke free, then proceeded to get grabbed again, this time i grabbed the persons hads so i could not be hit, then he was joined by his accomplace in an ARB uniform, with with swearing and abuse towards me and my mates.. Then got out of my truck still in a daze as to what was going on, and more language was thrown ect ect... And all this was happily fueld by other drunken idots from our camp ground saying we did it, it was them... :bad-words:

They were looking for a white hilux duel cab, on split rims with a mud sl*t sticker on the back.. I have a white SINGLE CAB ON 35's on FLIPPED RIMS, WITH NO MUD Scanas STICKER... wtf. Now as much as it was said that i wouldnt have gotten hitten ect, if i didnt make an attempt to stop this i believe i woud have.

Now it was all sorted out shortly after as we confronted the ppl that did it, appologies were made ect and all is good now, but this could have turned very sour very quickly if i hadnt have thought quickly, it totally stuffed the last of my 24 hour stay.. I was doing nothing wrong, doing a favour and towing slowly back to camp then get greeted with that shit..

It will not stop me going to the park, it wont make me wanna trash the joint like that 10% did, and i wont think differently about the place, but i would like for the owners/caretakers to just pinpoint the real problem not the innocent ppl. No hard feelings Alben... I will be back as i love the park and its facilities.

Cheers, Chris Jenkins.

Hey I heard some rumour that a deisel patrol came 2nd overall (or pretty high anyway)

Does that mean a deisel beat most of the V8 and turbo petrol boys???

I'm sad I didn't make it but I hear that deisel will be back at the park for may day so I can't wait to check it out!!!!!!
Would be crazy if a Deisel 4.2 won overall!!!
