Warn winch install without instructions. What goes where???

Post by Matt N »

:?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Trying to help a freind install a Warn XD9000, but he has no instructions.

On the winch there are 3 marked terminals (A, F1 and F2). One is unmarked, which I have termed ?X.
I need to know;
What attaches to terminal A :?:
What attaches to terminal ?X :?:

Now for the solenoid box.
There are 4 wires that come out, 3 are still marked from the factory (F1, F2 and motor ground). One is not tagged, it is the thickest black wire. I have called this ?Y, what does this attach to :?:

And finally to power the winch
What does the pos (+) battery lead attach to :?:
What does the neg (-) battery lead attach to :?:

Edit: I take it that the leads F1 and F2 attach to terminals F1 and F2 on the winch, is this correct?

PS if anyone still has their instruction booklet or wiring diagram, that would be tops.

Bogged;
Are you saying that the wires F1 and F2 from the Solenoid box don't attach to F1 and F2 on the winch??

X is the winch ground, it goes to either the - on the battery or striaght to the frame, doesn`t matter which as long as its a good earth.

Y goes to A and F1 and F2 go to F1 and F2 if the winch goes in when you are pressing the controller to go out then just swap F1 and F2 around.

Motor ground (small wire out of controll box) is the earth for the solinods it just goes to either the - on the battery or to the frame doesn`t matter which as long as its a good earth.

Then you should also have a bigger cable coming out of the controll box, this is the + to the battery.

If you look in my solinod box (pic) the top cable is the + from the battery. The bottom cable (has 11 on it in black) goes to the A on the winch. The two cables in the middle are F1 and F2, I didn`t look to which one is which but as these are only the in out cables/terminals. All small cables that come into the left of my controll box are just going to the dash switches and the hand controller plug. The white one coming in from the left is nothing to do with the winch.

Quite simple really,

Y goes to A,
x is battery negative and motor ground is earthed to body, while f1 and f2 go to their corresponding terminals.
PROCOMP -> What more can I say?
