How to change a vitara CV boot

Post by madda »

Hi all,

After searching all I could find was that everyone replaced the whole shaft, or paid somebody to do it,

So my question is how do I replace the cv boots? it has been neglected and all 4 boots are cactus! just thought I would get the good tips before starting.

Cheers Matt

the pro guys that do it have a special tool for putting the new boots on, but that was quite a few years back i saw that dunno if they still do it, i just go get mine done at a local cv shop should cost aroung 100 bucks a side, i think i got my whole cv fixed for that so might be cheaper

undo the clips and seperate the axle shaft from the cv. the shaft has an internal c-clip.
