My 47's are breeding

Post by trev1 »

I just bought another 47 ute, this one is rego'd, going, and was a 1 owner since '83. Just finished driving it home (that was a chore) and began assessing the workload to get a safety cert to change over regos. This one was a farm ute and has very little rust but needs a lot of lovin. Just got a few q's for those who would probably know.
1, Are there any big deals in doing a front crank seal,
2, how much do extractors help ( I can get some cheep)?

easy as pie to do the front crank seal one thing to look at whilst doing the job is to ensure that the harmonic balaner where the seal sits that it hasnt scored (groved) if so a speedy sleeve will be required available at any machine shop.

dont know how much a set of extractors will cost you probably around 600-900 depending on where you go. Id just go for the turbo keeps me smillin

Don't bother with extractors. Whack a turbo on and tune it 4-6psi, just real mild. It will be only a fraction more cost and will save you more on fuel.

My son would love a little jeep like that, I would be able to stop pushing him over all the bumps and dog holes in the back yard on his trike, he could go from three wheel driving to 4WD ing :D

I'd love to but now I have 2 of them to deal with. At least this one still runs and drives.
