Electrical Conundrum???

Hi Matt,
I'll have a look tommorow at work for you i've got some notes somewhere that should show which way they go. The pickup out puts an AC wave form which when reversed alters the firing posiiton of the module which is why you have to reset the timing after changing the wires. From memory the BIM024 fires at +.8 volt AC when the wires are reversed this causes the rotor to misalign with the cap by half the distance between the pick up points in the dizzy, if that makes sense. As well as erratic triggeing of the coil but i can't remember why. Also from memory + pickup wire to pin 7 - to pin 3

went out and tryed swapping the wires and couldn't get it to start but i found if i leave the white wire with the blue line off the + of the coil it solved the problem. no miss under heave load. both wires from the car were on the + side of the coil, the muilty spark box is the only thing on the - side
now i'm happy. now to put the gas system in

Brad, I tried your suggestion without success. The main problem being I just couldn't get the car to run... Even if I rotated the diz through its full range it wouldn't go. I mean I didn't take the thing out but I rotated probably the full 30 degree before and after and I just couldn't get it to fire... I am guessing by swapping the wires it would make the diz retard>>> Dunno but I tried without success.. Any advice?

Well it's been a while since I updated this thread so for those who are interested...
Yesterday I had my dizzy checked and calibrated on a machine to check all was well. Also checked TDC on the engine to make sure static 0 was actually 0. Well, dizzy is fine and doing all the right things. TDC is as marked and car has been re-timed to approx 10degree BTDC.
The previous suggestions re: swapping the module wires over had no affect except made the car run worse..
So, what I now have is a engine and electrical system fully checked and in tip top shape. At full noise I do still have some high end miss but its so far up there that I think most wouldn't even know it existed...
Interestly though... when we put an oxy sensor up its bum it was telling us the car was overfueling at full noise and yet if we increased fuel pressure to say 20psi the high end miss disappreared... When we dropped it back to the correct 15psi for teh projection and experimented with clamping the return fuel line (in affect increasing pressure again) the car would rev out to well over 7K! So it had us all scratching our heads....
Whatever the small problem that remains won't worry me. The thing is a rocket and that top end RPM it just isn't needed for what the car is meant for but it has become a bit of a hobby trying to find the fault!

Well get one... You won;t do much racing without one. Super simple to get. I think all you need is an LS2 from memory its called. Will get you on most tracks and hillclimbs. Wont get you into door to door if its a CAMS sanctionedd event but your not planning on that anyway.
