Just thought i would share, I have a 1990 ford fairlane on LPG stock std in the family that had a new battery going DEAD flat over night some nights not all. It has auto off interior lights & a head lights left on warning so pretty much idiot proof, car was checked & tested so back to auto elec with the new battery to charge & test. Turns out to be fine, so after some heated discussion refering to him not replacing the battery & come back if it goes flat again grrrr i take it home. Refit battery car starts all is well, turn everything off lock it up & that's that. Walking back down the yard later I notice the head lights on & full beams, so after calling myself a moron for leaving the lights on i look in the window & they are OFF. WTF it turns out the high beam flash/blinker stalk contacts in the steering column are flexing enough in the summer heat to contact & thus running the battery flat in just a few minutes. Have had to apologies to auto elec guy for being an ass, was a 1st for him also. All is good now my planets are realigned.

Funny story
I've noticed in the last few days that my 96 Fairmont Ghia (w/ leather pack) has enough swell in the leather on a 45 degree day that the steering wheel binds against the steering column surround. Squeaks terribly and is noticeably harder to turn.
More noticeable is that the air-con's low on gas though...
