rotation of diff centres

just a quick question of a thought i had the other day. is it possible to rotate your diff centre 180 degrees so the flange is higher, say for a spoa idea?
85 hi top drover, 31s, 2 inch exended shackles 2 inch bl.
88 tb42 swb mav,35 claws, 4 inch lift

i belive it will make forward reverse. ie it will turn the wrong way i think
