1HZ extractors

Post by pfbiker »

Hi All,

OK, I am interested in what gains are to be made by fitting extractors or headers to a 1HZ deisel(ute). Did they make any performance improvements for example, power, torque, fuel economy etc. I would like to know what brands, size, and the type of exhaust systems that where used with the extractors.

Thinking about this mod for my 75 ute.

Thanks

Minimal.

I got a second hand set for my 2H and was told I'd "gain an extra gear".

I noticed it revved freer, that's all. It may go a bit better up hills, but after a month you won't notice it.

If you want a decent power upgrade get a turbo.

G'day
I got a 2nd hand set of extractors for $100 at my local exhaust fitter and got him to make up a twin 2 1/2inch pipe setup that dumps just before the rear wheel. It definatley freed up the rev's and seemed to make a little bit more power(at least it sounds like it  ) I'm also supercharged so I do have abit more air flowing through the pipes so that might make a bit more of difference when I opened up the exhaust

Supercharged 1HZ? I'd like to see some pics of that (in another thread).
