Indicators keep blowing fuse

Post by koyukuk »

Hi guys,

I have had a search but can't quite get this sorted on the wife's vitara. The fuse for the indicators keeps blowing, at least intermittently - ie it will work fine for a bit and then blow and if you try and replace it it will just pop.

Tests so far:

Hazards still work fine (so flasher and wiring to the lights is ok?)
I can totally disconnect the loom that goes to the column - no difference there
Have checked earth from battery that also goes to the firewall.

Rapidly running out of ideas - any clues appreciated!

Starting with something simple, do you have a trailer plug? They can be the devil of lighting issues if they are filled with crap or have loose wiring.

Yes it does, but given the hazards still work is it still possible this is the problem? Sorry, not much good at wiring but at least it gives me somewhere else to look!
