So here is my epic modern dilemma for Saturday, went and got CBC bearings SZ293KIT and Im home checking out the old bearings compared to the new ones. So what I have is the old ones that come with a small spacer that goes on before the bearing then the collar to hold it all in. The new kit comes with just a bearing and collar and the new seal. But no spacer, except the new bearing has a flared edge on one side which has me confused. Is this the correct kit..? Or do I now use this bearing with out the first spacer with the lipped edge facing out or do I keep the old spacer in and put the bearing in with lipped edge facing into the axle housing then the collar. The problem I see with that is the collar would not longer have a full surface contact ...?
So I guess Im asking if you have recently fitted axle bearings from the pics below does it look like I have the wrong kit or is it just a little different..? OR does anyone have the part number from the last kit they purchased. That said Im a little worried about change as the current bearings seam to fit well with the rear disk setup. Im worried the different surface of the new bearings might cause issue. Cheers guys

The new bearing you got superseedes the old bearing that was on there. They have a much better seal on them so last a lot longer.
You don't use the spacer with the new bearing - just install it with the lip and seal side towards the outside of the car.

Yes same in the third picture. You dont actually have to use the bearings with the protrusion by the way, as unless they suddenly got a lot cheaper, they are a lot more expensive then the same bearing without the protrusion, and you just reuse the spacer.

Apparently the spacer can be hit with a chisel and it expands it enough to remove it. But then you may still have to knock the bearing off. Then there is putting the new bearing on. I imagine a press with the right bits would be easier and maybe better for putting the bearings on too.

yea i had an axle that had been damaged by a chisel and the spacer decided to come off and work its way to under the diff centre (thank god didny damage it) and had the axle slide halfway out my diff. not the best way. got out of my car to see wtf was goin on until i saw a foot of axle. not recomended

I'm going to make an assumption here, the assumption is by looking at that axle you have a NT.
if you do indeed have a NT they have given you the wrong kit. And as a general rule they do not superseed bearings. especially a 6*** series metric ball bearing.
your kit should contain 1 x 6207.2RSR (6207.LLU)
1 X M 048X062X08 SEAL
1 X LOCKING COLLAR.
if your's is a WT you have the right kit.
any bearings in kits should be exactly the same as what you have taken out. there are very few things that can be interchanged (eg. gearbox bearings usually have a cirlip groove. if this groove isn't needed you can replace it with a standard bearing.). i have only come across superseeded parts when it comes to seals. NEVER bearings.
i'm not talking out my arse here i sell bearings for a living. And having a NT zook myself i know what should be there.

OK. They are totally interchangable, and you can fit either bearing, as long as you undestand one uses the spacer and one doesn't
There is a reason Suzuki upgraded the bearing, that that is because the Koyo bearing has a MUCH BETTER SEAL.
Even if you have NT, you are better off avoiding the old bearings and getting the newer style. They will last longer if you run your zuk in mud.

you just slice the bearing and collar sideways with a grinder as described in another thread. i tried many ways to get them off intact until i just jumped on OL and did a quick search to find people were giving them a slice . once i went back out to the shed it took me all of 3 minutes to get them off. i expanded one of the old collars out a bit and welded it to the end of a piece of pipe so i could press it all back together.
Thanks for your help and comments guys, I have WT diffs but my Sierra is a NT 84 model. So when I asked for the parts I gave them the year the diffs came off of which was a 92 WT. So all sounds good they should fit. Combination of the Vitara playing up and other things and I still haven't fitted these bearings yet but Ill get some pics up once its going back together.
