Yes, there's lots of arms etc available for hilux but it's just one more cost.

60 series and hilux use the same knuckles so it is not a big problem at all its a bolt on thing

im still going to change my diffs at a latter state but when i made a list of things i want to do to my car they were'nt as high on the list as some other items like front bar and roll cage plus motor conversion.
here are some more pics of todays progress.
i plumed up all the coolant lines including top hose fabrication, thermo fan install, painted rocker cover and put that on.
Image
Image
not much room between motor and fan huh.
i know the radiator is on its way out but it will do to get her going. i put the thermo behind the radiator cause its big plus wanted to leave room for intercooler at later state.
all thats left now is to make intake piping, put extractors on and wire her up. im saving wirring it to last as thats my favourite bit, NOT!

does that mean that you can use 60series steering on hilux diffs

why not.
i machined down the neck on the gti dizzy to fit in the original 13a dizzy angle housing, that was the easy bit. then i chopped the two dissy shafts up, cut them to size, machined them so they fit into each other then welded the join. dialed it in to within 2thou of being straight = very straight
had to make a spacer between the dizzy and gear on the shaft so the gear didnt put pressure on the bearing. then put it all together with new seals and thats it.
all in all wasn't the easiest thing to do but i like a challenge like that and thanks to my uncle with the machines it was possible.

very nice, but what about lubrication? do you add oil in the dist after installed? or is those grooves there to transport oil+?

the only part on the dizzy that needs oil is the gears and i put greas on that when i put it together plus some oil will go through with those groves.
pretty sure it would pass the pits with ease as its still a 1.3 litre.

i have the car running sweet after a couple of adjustments one being that since i put my dizzy on the angle with a gear it made the rotor button spin clockwise instead of anti clockwise like the standard gti dizzy's do meaning everytime i reved it the computer was trying to advance the timing the wrong way. so i had tp press the crank angle sensor pickup gear of the dizzy shaft and flip it over making it work the right way.
after that the car is running sweet now so spent all last night cleaning up the wirring and putting the computer under the dash.
in the end wirring it up is not the hardest thing i could deffanatly do a second one a lot quiker.

zuker1500 maybe me you and nic can go for a wheel one day and you could check it out then.

ill put some more pics up soon and maybe a youtube of it choppin up.

just took the car for a spin and man this thing pull's hard for a 4wd, ones the revs hit around 4 grand till 8 its a rocket.
i think i still got the timing out a bit as well but its too hot out side atm to stuff around some more.
couple other minor things i can play with but besides that its on the money.

as jonno said its all about how you go about it, i started collecting parts for the conversion a ages ago but heres my list that i can remember.
i paid
$150 for the engine, computer, loom and a pair of GTI front seats in real good nic.
$300 in bearings, rings, gasket set, timing belt kit, other engine bits to do rebuild
$80 for 14inch thermo fan
$80 for bosch 070 fuel pump
$200 for dizzy angle drive
$30 for oil, plugs, oil filter
$20 in wire and relays

thats pretty much everything, i made or had a lot of stuff sitting around as well.
