35" Tyres ? What will fit mu 80?

Post by Barn »

Hi

l hope to be purchasing a another second set of tyres and need some advice about whats going to work for me.

My 80 has a 2" lift, and lm planning to get 35" on ofset rims and wanted to know if anyone else can advise how there's went?

some things lve asking myself are:

will there be any fowling?

how wide a tyre fits best and what is the max width?

How deep an ofset should the rims be?

Any answers appreciated.

Thanks

Ps: If anyone knows about the stress placed on CV's in the 80 series, can they contact me, as l have stuffed about 4 so far running 33"s. do you run Chromic alloy, or what ever they call em? difference between $60.00 CV and Genuine or after market?

i have a three inch lift and my 33 bfg would rub on full articulation, with a bit of trimming it was fixed. but all 80s are different.

i now have a body lift so there is no problem for me now with rubbing

You must have different issues as I used to run my 80 with standard toyota CV's with a chev v8 and 35's and had the vehicle in the air many times and never boke a CV. I now run 37's with twin lockers and bought longfields, once again never blown a CV and I'm not light on the throttle.

80 Series

I have an 80 series (poverty pack, no plastic flares). No body lift, 5 inch suspension lift, no change to suspension linkages (except panhard bars) and my 35s (MTRs or Simex Centipedes, 15X8 inch rims with Toyota offset) will only just start to rub at full articulation, compression, on the inside of the rear wheel arch. This has just worn some paint but no other damage.

Hope this helps,
Cheers,
