Hi, has anyone investigated if the 2.8 litre 4v head can be fitted to the TD4.2. Did Nissan ever build such a head for the TD42 for a different country.

Get a head gasket from a 2.8 & put it on a 4.2 block & see if the holes line up. I think you will find it will a long way out

My apologies Patrolman, I have never laid eyes on one thought they were dohc, just checked manual. Was hoping Nissan may have made something for the 4.2 for a different market.

Mate the TD42 is a beast of a motor as is, better leave it alone and it will last forever if looked after :cool:
