late 1960,s fj40 disc brake conversion?
hi guys,im about to swap the diffs off my bj42 parts car over to my 1960s era fj 40,how have others fitted the later models brake master cylinder asembly onto the older models fire wall any tips would be grateful

Assuming the early 40 you have doesnt have a booster? It would be worthwhile fitting the booster and master from the later 40 but from memory you need to make a bracket for the booster. Something to do with the pedal box on the early models not having the mounts for the booster. Ol'40 (Garry?) on http://www.3rdrock4x4.com/forum/index.php did it to his early 40 and had pics of the bracket he made up. Have a search there or pm him if you can't find it.
just checked ol 40,s thread,he appears to have a different original set up,looks like no booster,mine has a booster,but its funky looking and attatched to the ribbing,mine could possably be a mid 60,s to,im not sure on exactly what year model,it hasnt got a heater or the vents near the kick out panels either,still has the 3 speed in it mated up to a 327 chev,the body on it is awsome with lack of rust,needs paint though,they dont make them like they used to with the 40,s
