Hey All,
Trying to ascertain if a Kumho KL 71 in 225/75 R 16 will fit on a standard Jimny??
Anyone running a same size tyre on std Jimny??
Tyre shops vary in response, whilst some are " you'd need to buy them first, we dont normally carry stock that size"
others are " stick with factory size" - which doesnt help, the KL71 dont come in that size??
If I did want a KL 71 in the 225 size, what would be the minimum work to be done to jimbo to fit those shoes?? i.e., suspension mods, guard cutting??
Missed the suzy club meeting the other night bugger it, was busy at work...
Thanks guys...
Jarrod.

Will Kumho KL71 225/75R16 fit on Factory Hgt Jimny??
Might clear with some plastic cutting and correct rim offset- something to watch for with the jimny as it runs sierra backspacing, not vitara. (check the bible) so common 16" rims, whch are all vitara backspaced, might make things better, or worse depending on what's hitting where.
a good tyre shop should mount one for free so you can check clearances.
Suspension lift does not help with tyre clearance unless the bumpstops are also spaced down.
Steve.

you might find 225/75r15 work better, i've measured up my uncles jimny and they would JUST fit with no mods... gearing would start to be a concern though around that size - you're talking a 3" increase in tyre diameter (29.2")... thats 11% larger and hence your speedo will be out by about that much as well as your gearing. Worth thinking about at least.

my mate has a jimny with 3 inch suspension lift...
his fits 235/75/15's=29" tyres.. no guard chopping they are maxis mt's
he has standard gearing-no probs...
i have vitara with 2' lift running 31's(bit of guard chopping) gearing is way out now.. i useto run the 235/75/15's and didnt have a prob with gearing.
speedo? mine was 100% correct with a gps with the 235's on it, now with 31's its out 10%
