the placings for xrcc

1st lockless monster (sam driving)

2nd mog rover (mick driving)

3rd humphrey (craig driving)

minimal points difference between the top 3 drivers. very close finish. 1 cone would have changed the placings.

From what cheezy has told me it was bearing failer that killed the T case at Woodpecker. Will be interesting to see what caused it this time.

Sounds like it was a fun weekend wheeling.

Got some pics as well.

Had to leave so that I wouldn't feel the urge to offer people money to buy their rigs. That sure looked like fun.

Just got home,Had an bloody awesome weekend and yes the zook copped a floggin
Well done to sam, mick and craig.
My carnage includes:Broken steering drag link, drivers door and cab crunched into rock on sat,(fixed drag link),Bent left rear trailing arm, popped left ball joint, broken short side cv or axle(have'nt looked yet)and flopped it onto passengers side.So all in all i had a blast..
POS smashed a rear crown wheel.
GONADS snapped his high steer and snapped short side stub axle off the cv,rolled left rear tyre off rim(But we won't go there,my ears are still ringing) Rolled front left tyre on sunday and put a nice sized hole in the side wall.
RUFF put some new dents in the paintwork of snotlux and then blew a transfer case.
TAZZ snapped the front off his power steer box on the first course, stayed up most of the night repairing it to then have to change to another steering box housing that did not quite bolt up the same.(Don't worry tazz, next time you will kick ass)
CRAIG i don't think did really any major carnage.
BJ Was just being himself and revving up the crowd..
WHITE LUXY burnt clutch on sat, replaced it sat night.
MICK just drove the mogrover like it was stolen.
SAM's new buggy was great to watch
CHEZZY cracked the rear output shaft housing on his auto.
ROD rolled tyres off the rims and flopped on the first course as he crossed the finish line.
I think thats everyone.
I must say that rover park has some bloody awesome rockand that dave has done a great job again.

Hes runnin the Marks twin Transfers isnt he?? Thats his second set that have died??

Just a quick answer to this before any more speculation.

It was nothing to do with the dual case. It wasnt even the transfers. It cracked the auto extension housing adapter. And i dont beleive it was a strength issue. If you were there you would agrea that the obstical was extremely painfull. Also the damage to the transfer adapter at Woodpecker was a bearing failure it had nothing to do with the dual case adapter it just happened that when the bearing failed part of it exited through the adapter.

I will post back here a little later with some of my thoughts on the event. I only just walked in the door.

I want to have a look at some of these great pics first.

I did put up here that Woodpecker was due to bearing failer, which let the gers seperate to the point of killing the gears which then a piece of metal got between other gears and the side of the housing which made the hole.

I`m glade that it wasn`t the twin cases this time, not that this is any better, but I think you know what I am trying to say

Not happy bout that.. because of the split sides, you miss a bit of the action at that place.. would have liked to see the vid as they "should" have captured it all..

Heres a little run down of my trip and what i thought of the event!

The water and Rain played a huge part in the layout of the courses but by the end of the first day things were looking GOOD!!!!

STAGE 1 (what a Pain In The Arse). As we all walked threw the course i thought to myself that only 2 Rigs will have a chance of getting threw with Minor penilties (Lockless & Mogrover) due to the extremly TIGHT layout. I was WRONG, even they had difficulities and incurred quite a few penilties. This Stage was not a challenge OBSTACAL wise or a challenge of driver ability to attack the hard stuff but it was a challenge in reverse parking!

There was one good ledge in the track but was conqured quite easily.

STAGE 2. MMM realised that both the spectators and the competitors wanted something with more of a challenge, so he allowed the competitors to help with the course layout!

Now this stage contained some excellent ledges and some nice drop offs. The last Obstacal for this stage was a Bum-crack type ledge that could either be stradled or if you stuck to the left you could attack the ledge straight on. The Highlight of this stage was watching BJ slide into the crack and then Opening it up to drive threw rubbing the top part of his cage all the way along the rock!!

Sunday

STAGE 3. This course was similar to the 2nd however it had a AWESOME double step-up that made for some excellent driving! There was only one way up and that was full noise.

I really loved this obstacal it was the first thing that got my adreniline up all weekend.

There was quite a few rigs that had all FOURS OFF the ground when they hit this ledge. :D :D

The last RIG threw was Beebee in the least Modified rig there. He gave the ledge a real Good go (about 7 Full-on attempts) and did not look like he was going to make it, UNTIL a VOICE out of the crowd ;) ;) yelled out to stack rocks and make a ramp. Both Greg and Dave were out stacking rocks and with encouragement from certain O/Limits people had built some nice little ramps. So greg dirrected Dave back and gave the order to GO GO GO!!!!!!!

So Dave did just that and got up it first hit!!!! It looked awesome!!!

STAGE 4. The main finale' was a large ledge with a slight "V" in the middle!

The first RIG in was the "Lockless Monster". He cleared the rest of the stage with ease and then he came to the Ledge. After a few really good attempts he could not make it!  WAS THIS IT, had we finally found something to stop Sam and Tony!!!!!!!

Tony place 2 Rocks in the perfect spot and then proceded to guide Sam up with great precision, the Monster was up.!

I have driven in every round of XRCC and i can say without a doubt that this was by far the best ever!

It was GREAT how David asked the competitors what they wanted and built the courses to suit!

WELL DONE dave and crew!!!

A big thanks to all the other competitors that came aswell. Especially Cheezy, Jamie, Gonads and Tazz for coming (once again) such a long way!!!!!!!

Also a BIG thanks to the O/Limits cheer squad/s (they were everywhere)!!!!!

And last but not least a HUGE THANKS to HANS and HIEDI for putting up with us all weekend and thankyou for your OUTSTANDING HOSPITALITY, other park owners have now got a lot to live upto!!!!

TOPS WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!
