turboing a bj73

Post by esp22 »

HI, what is involved with putting a turb on a landcruiser bj73 3b diesel engine? Can they produce more power than the 13bt engine? Is it a reliable option? How much will it cost?

Thanks

depends on your skills and/or budget. you can make more power than a STOCK 13B-T however spending the same money on a 13B-T will yield far more impressive results.

ring around turbo suppliers and see what they can do for you. the going price for a fitted and tuned turbo kit with exhaust is around the $3500 mark.

if you have some turbo know-how you can pick up a turbo on ebay or from importers for $100 - $500, throw in another $300 for plumbing and you have a DIY turbo setup for under $1000.
