6V lighting
Moderator: -Scott-
6V lighting
not really "auto" electrical but im hoping someone can help me or point me in the right direction..
im looking for some LED or Fluro lighting for the tent when im away camping but dont know where to look.
ive been to the local dick smith but unless your looking at buying a washing machine or tv they are about useless these days
i have a 6V 7Ah battery and also a bike battery 12V 10Ah that i can use.. but the 6V would be more ideal so i can use the 12V battery for external lighting.
perhaps jaycar? i dont have one local anymore but if there is a chance they might have something then il head over to them and see...
it needs to be low current so i can at least get a weekend out of the battery (or a full night at least) so thats why im thinking fluro or LED

These are good:

These are unbelievably bright, and compact:

Each of these puts out a lot of light ... a bank of them, or a few scattered through the tent, would be brilliant:

I've spent my fair share on LED lighting at Jaycar....

Something to consider is that anything that takes four AA batteries is 6 volts. That might help, dunno.
Also there is some 6V stuff here, no idea if it's any good but it came up on google.

This is not legal advice.
those would probably suit my application best...
idealily id like something similar but in 6V..
if i had to make/build something then that wouldnt be a problem either..

if i could find something cheap that i could modify to take an external battery that would be tops

Have a look on www.dealextreme.com , they've got some awesome LED stuff on there and most of it comes with free postage!
I've got some Cree R2 LED modules for torches that run on 3-18V and they put out an unbelieveable amount of light. I reckon I'd get around 50m throw out of them easily! They draw around 300mA.
