Ok no worries. So there is definately 100 percent no such thing as a Turbo diesel Factory SWB? Only aftermarket???
Also, what is the newest year model i can get for an SWB diesel?
I know the GQs went to 1997 but did the SWBs go out to that date as well? and did the diesels go out to that date too?
Im really after one thats got all the options etc etc on it and is really straight and good paint and good nick. Would love some lift in it if possible, if not its not a concern.....

So as far as an SWB Diesel goes. Can anyone answer the question of year models. Did the SWB come out right up to 1997 with all options or did the SWB stop being made before the wagon finished?

according to redbook, 1995 was the last year the swb was offered in the GQ lineup.

ill Be honest now that im looking at them alot more and seeing how rare they are i cant afford to be picky.
Id settle for a TB42 on gas duel fuel that has good paint and is straight. lift is fine, would prefer power windows and locks etc....
But would prefer a TD42.....
i think im up shit creek. Worst thing is i have the cash sitting here to buy one right now and cant find one.
It really needs to be NSW so i havent got issues with road worthys and blue slips but i agree with you Bogged.
Most shortys have had a hard life....
Though if i was going to buy a Wagon id get a GU not a GQ.....

If you can get a straight one, its easy to put central locking and power windows in it and worth spending a bit of money on. The TB42's are much cheaper and easy to convert to diesel, you can buy TD 42's for $3500 fully rebuilt. Have a look on EBAY. Heaps of parts for Patrols just type in Nissan Patrol and see what comes up.
