roof for suzuki sierra swb

Gday all !, ive been looking everywhere for a roof for my suzuki sierra 1994 swb, i would be happy with fibreglass or wateva, just something besides canvas ! it would be awesome if someone knew if you could buy them or know someone who makes them or wateva thanks alot cheers !!!

im thinking of fabricating some of these and selling a few. out of fibreglass just with latches from the inside.

whats the reason you dont want canvas??? my previous bestop is still in good condition and it was in full sun for about 7 years... my current soft top made by MU Canvas has been in use just over a year now and the only sign of wear it has is the trim has faded from black to grey... hardly worth worrying about - the bestop never leaked a drop, the MU Canvas top leaks a touch at high speeds in torrential rain, but i fixed that by stuffing some foam in the corners. Also, unless the windows are down neither soft top flaps, and with windows down you cant hear the flapping over the general noise anyway =)

Oh and if its security thats behind it - you own a sierra, there is no security...

yer one of the reasons is for security, another is cause i wana have a good light setup on the top and i wana make it to a ute aswell, i got plans

Planning on deep bogholes and high speed runs ? Or long grass.

I am not a fan of roof lights they seem to attract other vehicles with those pesky blue and red roof lights.

Well my brother has a roof light set up with 2 lightforce in the middle and 2 narvas on the outside and they seem to have a really good coverage. so i dont see why not and it looks good aswell

I have a pair of roof lights on my car and I can think of plenty of reasons not to have them. They're vulnerable, questionably legal, a pain to wire, tend to flutter (especially when bolted to a floppy hardtop) and are pointless for anything except off road use as they are a complete PITA to other road users on the highway (they get blinded by your roof lights before you see them)

Rant on...

They are great offroad, but mostly they're embarassing so mine fold down beind the cab to save my dignity. Make sure you get some 24" rims top go with those roof lights, apparently having useless rims and useless lights is the way to go for all the crazy kids in the suburbs.

I think Flexiglass challenge still make a fibreglass hardtop for sierras. It's pretty expensive though, at about $1500, from memory.

The best looking and fitting option was the suzuki genuine hardtop, but these days you'd have to buy a whole car to get one.

A Maruti roof and cab back will give you the SWB ute solution. These are also hard to find and expensive, but they are very neat, being a copy of the japanese optional equipment for these cars.

anyway, theres some ideas.

i have a big issue with my 2 piece fibreglass hard top.
i cant decide whether to chop it down want33s style, or
chuck it on ebay.

You could make it in to a swb style side ute. I just made the rear panel out of fibre glass. Completely waterproof. (up to the tops of the doors any way) lockable too.

Me and a mate had this argument so he timed me breaking into his hardtop it took me 35sec to have the door open using a cable tie and im no car thief. If someone wants to break into your car they will no mater what, just get a car alarm for security that way you will hear if someone is breaking in.
I had heeps of problems with my old 2peice fiberglass top stripping bolts when i went offroad then flying off when i was driving down the highway so i got a softtop and have never looked back.
