hi i have a 84 fj45 ute and a 73 fl45 im going to sell the 84 and just wondering can i use the shocks and shackles from 84 to the early and does anyone have info on converting early to disc brakes

early spring eyes are too small for the later model shackles.

Shocks should be ok, I know they changed the shock mount eye in the later 60 series but think all the 40s were the same.

60 swivel hubs fit onto 40 knuckles. Grab everything from the swivel hub out and use hilux (forget what model) steering arms off the swivel hubs (same taper as 40 swivel arms) to retain your 40 tie rod. Otherwise fit 60 power steering at the same time and use the 60 swivel arms and upgrade to the beefier 75 series tie rod (same taper as 60 swivel arms), drag link and steering stabiliser.
