Carby Problems?

Post by zooklover »

I took my sierra out driving the other day and after it had warmed up it would stall whenever i put my foot on the clutch. In order to get home i had to keep my foot on the clutch, brake and accelerator when i was at a red light. I had a fiddle with the carburetor and tried to start the car but now its completely dead. The radio wont even turn on but my battery is fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

To me it sounds more like an electrical problem than a carbie problem. If the radio won't turn on i'd be checking fuses and wires. There is a idle up solenoid and a fuel cut off solenoid (correct me of i'm wrong) that requires power to it. I disconnected it once and it stalled my engine.

I just figured it out it was just the main power bale had sortof dissolved so i replaced it and now all is good, i will take it for a test drive later to see whether it is still stalling.
