fj45 parts compatability
hi i have a 73 fj45 and a 83 fj45 just wondering are the complete front diffs and rear interchangable as old has drums and later has discs also the early fj45 has 350 with 4 speed and later one has 308 turbo with turbo 400 auto would i be able to take auto setup out and put behind 350 chev cheers shane
Diffs will change straight over no probs, you will also need the master cylinder. The auto will bolt straigh up to the chev no probs too you will just have to get rid of your flywheel & put a flex plate in it place & pull the spiggot bearing out of the back of the crankshaft, then change over the rest like gearbox mount & drive shafts & get a new inspection cover for the tranmission because the starter motor is on the right side on the chev engine & not the left like the old holden engines.
it's never a problem until it can't be fixed, even then it' only a minor set back
