Hi all,
My engine mounts I believe are worn as there some vibration in the cabin at idle (ok when accelerating). Wondering if anyone would be able to recommend some decent mounts, other than stock? or would stock be preferable.
any idea of costs for parts and labour for the mounts?

Generally, they don't "wear" they either fail totally or they are OK.
Geabox might be a different matter though - these can get softened by oil/heat and will have more effect on cabin vibration IMHO.
Labour? its a bolt/unbolt deal- you shouldn't need to pay labour to fit.
Cost? Dunno, but I've seem some very poor knockoff suzuki rubber parts, so I vote buy genuine, (or get some from a wreck once you've worked out which ones are junk)
note - vibration under acceleration is often related to uni failure so I'd look into that too.

I'd thought it may be more the engine mounts having failed, as there is only vibration during idle...upon acceleration, the vibration goes away. I understand this is typical of engine mount failure as most engines lift a little upon acceleration...
i guess i'd probably check out the genuine parts. any tips on spotting failed mounts if i were to choose the wreckers/cheaper option?

easy way is to jack the engine up or lever it over to change the mounts.
can be a rite pita on some engines. depends on what year vitara and the bolt ons in engine bay to how easy everything is to get too

There are chysler engine mounts for a 318 v8 that are a bolt in swap that a 1.6 should never ever be able to damage.

i have changed my engine mounts-buy original... i dont think yours are broken..
when mine were broken when taking off you would hear a loud bang as the motor lifted then fell back on the mount...-passengers side.. when driving foreward..
when the drivers side one broke it would do the jumping and bang noise when i turned the car on or off and when i let the clutch out in reverse...
