The misus's old man (whom owns 2 big tyre stores up here) has just got the actual dealership for both mickey thompson and Procomp. At the moment i got MTZ under the truck but with this recent change and hearing Procomp are better tyres it would be good to hear some experiences with both! The MTZ's are good but also wear fairly fast but really are great off road! They also stick to the black top very well and im super impressed with them but not very impressed about the wear. Im seeing if i can get myself a set of procomp extremes in 35's as my offroad tyres. But yer will be good to see what you guys think of the two!

Using the Procomp Extreme MT's in 33" as my only tire at the moment.
They have behaved extremely well in everything except mud, mainly because do to the lack of rain I haven't come across much in the past 18 months so haven't had the chance to test them.
On road they go well and in the wet are fine and are not that noisy.
Very happy with them and will probably replace then with another set when the time comes.

I ran Procomp MTs for a while, and loved them. Brilliant on road for a muddie, decent off road for a mud tyre. Currently run the MT radial claws, seem a bit more slanted to offroad, but fine on road.
Suppose it depends on what you want? For a stock standard MT I reckon the Procomps are good, certainly shit all over the crappy BFG MTs I ran after them.

Apparently people think I'm too patronising (that means I treat them like they’re stupid).
I have a brand new set of Pro Comp Extreme MT, i had to put at least 24PSI in them to have them stand up straight, i drove for about 2 hours on dirt/minimal rock as a test for the vehicle, then in the first real go on them i blew 2 side walls out beyond repair and a further one tyre has a definate side wall cut which is leaking air. The fourth tyre is flat at the moment but i have'nt confirmed weather it is a puncture or a valve problem (It doesnt really matter, i have run out of tyres to use them properly anyway).
For a tyre that is advertised as having good resistance to side wall damage i am very disapointed.
I cant say much for mickyT tyres as i have not really driven on them while four wheel driving. I do have a set on my tow vehicle but they were on it when i bought it so i dont know how old they are.

Even though i haven't pushed for it, the distributors haven't offered anything for the replacement, not even at a discounted price.

Of coarse everyone is going to have problems with all types of tyres! Like i dont touch coopers now! but some people love them! its just i had some bad experiences with them so i now dont touch! But otherwise good replys good to see good and bad post! but has anyone had both of them and compaired them??

I remember back to the days when the ONLY tyres you could get for a Zook without waiting months for were crappy Bridgestone Dueler things, unless you wanted bar treads.
Bought a new set for a trip to Sunset. Staked 3 of the farkers in one trip. Easy enough to say crap tyres (despite the fact I got further up the big dune than anything other than a buggy in the day), but following another vehicle through very overgrown tracks couldn't've had ANYTHING to do with the stakings

the retailer i purchased them through actually covered the cost for the repair on one of the tyres at no cost to me. It went back twice to be fixed as it looked ugly the first time and it is unable to be balanced, still looks pretty ugly too. I have driven on it and it has a fair bit of shake at any speed over about 40 k/h.

I can't comment as I've owned neither but I wheel with guys who own MTZ's and a bloke with Pro comp X terrains and the X terrains seem to struggle against the MTZ's. I don't think they have the tread depth nor the side biters or even tread pattern to justify their price.

IMHO, my 37" xterrans have the same tread depth and longer side biters than the Mikky T's also my xterrans have 3 plys the first being bias.
The GQ has had 35" xterrans for the last 3 years and they have been given all types of hell. But yes they do lack a little in the sticky mud, thats why we run brand new 36" ET2's for the mud comps.

if you did anything over maybe 30-40kph I wouldn't be blaming the tyres, I run 30-40 PSI in my MTX's at higway speeds depending on load and love them, I only EVER air down under 30 psi when doing slow work in mud, rocks and sand, even in Gibber country I have yet to damage a sidewall
