My 91 NH SWB has started producing a strong clicking noise from the front wheels when in 4WD and under load - what have I damaged, do I need to fix it in a hurry and how many $ ?!

yeah thats what I thought (or had been told)...

Do I need to get them done now? What happens if I just sit on them for a bit - will they eventually give way? Is it something I can wait on - i'm mostly on road just now.

If it's clicking then it's already broken, whole new drive shafts can be found on Ebay for pretty cheap or you can get yours rebuilt..
Four wheels (Driving) good, two wheels bad.

NP Pajero with added goodness..

there spinning all the time so pobly would be good idea to do them
just in case they lock up
i got mine from repco whole new ones end to end heaps easier did them
myself took a few hrs each side but i replaced ball joints and did a ball joint flip so it was good mess well do it all why its apart and check ya wheel bearings.

I picked them up for about $200 from repco. Work out if it is the left or right tho, they are both different.
