Bring on TT09 can't wait!!!!!
I agree with HIGH ROLLER.If it aint broke, dont fix it.I think the spectators are the best judges of how the event should be run and where.Possibly the TTC organisers can hand out some sort of a survey form at the entry gate to get some feedback which might help to give some future direction.Just a thought from a nearly over the hill gang member. :?:

Maybe someone needs to move some of this action ......aswell

Im my opinion......this type of advertisment is not the kind that will in the big picture move this sport - OUR SPORT forward :!: .......I dont FEEL its what TEP may want to have being displayed nor there sponsors etc etc

Dont get me wrong there are some valid points...being expressed....but its also putting a sour feel towards the Great work that Mark M has done for Very sick Kids.......

Anyway my opinion only ,as stated

Dan
Dan,

let me the first to apologise to you, each & every competitor, spectators & sponsors, it was not my intention to cast any bad light on our sport or to sour the emotions of anyone involved in this awesome event.

However i beleive i have been personally attacked on a public forum, To publicly questioning what i have stated as not being fact & to insinuate that its all rumour in my view warranted a hardy resonse!

Sometimes in life certain things are worth standing up for - Honour & Integrity are two of them!

Once again, sorry to all for any inconvenience

No need for an apology mate , didnt think it was your veiws that were casting bad breath over our Awesome sport .....and I guess with out others to push the limits how can things grow ...... :?:

As much as I want the event here already ....I still have to finish my rig .... ;)

but I cant wait the last 2 years I have competed have been absolutley awesome ...and have been stoked with every minute of it .......looking forward to catching up with those who will listen to my dribble :D

Taps, like almost everything, we can always try to improve TT to make it as enjoyable an event as possible, but it all takes a shiate, actually mega shiate load of hours of work, meetings, time off work to go and build the TT arena and tracks so they aren't the same each year, big finances and countless hours on a mobile or sending stupid amounts of emails every night just to make it all happen.
I have been involved in Tuff Truck since '02 either as a competitor, marshall, stage manager and now the assistant comp manager. The years previous to now i haven't known about how much time, dedication and work it takes to run Tuff Truck. Only now i know what happens behind the scenes.
I can talk for myself and say that i am involved in Tuff Truck because i want to be involved and because i firmly believe this competition is heading in the right direction. And because i believe the satisfaction on that Sunday afternoon after TT is won and done, knowing (hopefully) what a great weekend it was.
The Tuff Truck committee (past and present) IMHO have done a great job with continuing building this great competition. If they hadn't, TT wouldv'e died long before now. Please remember as well with all this whining and carrying on, that the vast majority of us are working full time as well as working on creating TT.

I think that without a doubt the best thing to be taken away from all of this, is that this just goes to show how damn good TT is. Otherwise, there would not be so many people that are so passionate about it.
Personally, I applaud everyone who is contributing to make a great thing even greater.
And especially those who are giving up soooo much of their time to be working their butts off in the scorching heat, driving rains and ankle deep snow. (Ok, maybe that last one was a bit of a stretch!)
In the past it has been a thankless task, and I think its time we showed these workers how much we appreciate what they do.
I suggest that we ditch all of the talk here on how to run the event or what to change. I propose (and sorry Podge, I should really run this by you first!) but I am PROPOSING that there be a Q&A session, with competitors, officials and volunteers to be in attendance. Those with opinions can air them in a calm, controlled manner, and management can take on board any real, constructive ideas, or explain why they dont want to, or cannot go ahead with any suggestions they deem to be unfeasible.
I think all the ranting and raving is detracting from the event, what the workers do, and the sport as a whole.
WHat say you?

Tony, at no point have i ever, ever taken any thinng away from the organisers of this event i know personally what goes on behind the scenes as well as being involved at that level, and my suggestions were
only that.

Myself and many others i know of, are very passionate about this event in particular.
TTC the event can be very frustrating at times and also very rewarding, hence why i keep comming back and helping out with my role, I think that some of the comments that are made, are made out of pure frustration.

Morning All,

Just a quick charity update - we are currently sitting at $6,476 raised so far!

A fabulous effort from all 22 teams involved at this point - more teams to become involved i hope!

Rick, i agree whole heartedly with your post - its time to be positive & productive, not negative & destructive.

To the officials & workers behind the scene's your efforts are greatly appreciated, your efforts are rewarded each year buy the fact that this event gets bigger & better - that is why we as competitors are so passionate & desperate to be on the starting line -a big congrats - & with the Price lads involved it will continue to grow with an even greater professionalism!

The biggest 4x4 event in Aus is just weeks away - & I can't wait to compete in a 100% rule abiding, full bodied rig this year!

I wish everyone the best of luck

Regards

Advice from RUFF :?

Umm...that would be floor it in 2nd if 1st doesn't work.

Don't worry Mark, there are going to be around 5000 experts screaming all manner of "advice" from behind the bunting. The hard part is picking which is the least likely advice to roll you over.

Best of luck this year. Your rig is a real masterpiece and I can't wait to see it in the flesh.

Dont worry about cooking your motor twon. its all cast mate. no alloy there. you will be fine just keep going.

it was good accurate advice, but wasnt a good insight into the finer points of comp driving. :D

Moose,

I didn't realize having a chat to somebody in the car park, whilst having my car fixed was outside the rules?

His actual advice to me was just to relax & enjoy!

Anyway - moving on

I still don't get the drama about last year's DVD. I thought it was one of the better ones.

I know all the hoopla about the yobbos and such...but its not like TT was misrepresented.
