What offset are you aiming for?skez wrote:im in mackay qld where can i get flipped rims from (more offset) every place round here wont have anything to do with it? i was going to buy 15x8 sunnies and get them flipped?
righto cool let me no how ya go
and yeh the biggest off set u can get on a 15x8 f100 rim is neg 23 i already have 31s on 15x7 rims with neg 15 offset which is about the same and i would like to get them alot more offset as my wheel hits the shock mount and i plan on getting bigger tyres in the future plus my car always wants to tip over

Wrong.
You can get KingWheels Sunrasia Pattern. +28 15x8 Got mine $75each
For a Suzuki Sierra / F100/F150 5 Stud pattern.
The more offset, The more clearance you will need in those guards, And Extended flares for legal issues.
I have these, with 33x12.5s......I have nicely pollished shockmounts as well..
But 1st i smoothed them with a hammer so no sharp edges.

how long is a max? Is it longer than a millimetre or shorter than an inch?k3lst wrote:why not buy max offset rims to star with
ive got a set of 15x10s with max offset for sale but im in sydney

Offset is measured in millimetres. Backspacing is generally measured in inches.
"Max" doesn't mean anything. It 's not a measurement.

i would make sure that you really need 2 inches because if you can get away with less your wheel bearings are going to be far better off, maybe look at steering stops too

Width is cool to a point but have you considered not lifting it as high?
Low is the new lift, bumpstops are the new flex.
A sierra that's hilux height and hilux width is just a 1.3 litre hilux.
Steve.

well in my scenario, max does mean something. It was the largest offset available for my patrol, and its -44.Gwagensteve wrote:how long is a max? Is it longer than a millimetre or shorter than an inch?k3lst wrote:why not buy max offset rims to star with

So what you meant is the most offset available off the shelf, and it's useful to know that's -44.
Any amount of offset is possible if you have the rims custom made.

Yes but it will only be 50% of the weight, or something.
It never ceases to amaze me after all the years and all the threads about SPOA, people still think they can just put rooted flat springs SPOA and it will be all good so long as it's got mega offset rims and stuff.
There's so much tech about SPOA (and also how illegal it is in QLD) that there's no excuse fo this.
Steve.
