47 series rust worries.

Post by trev1 »

On the present project, the cabin has minimal rust and not really a problem but the chassis needs serious repair. The repair doesent bother me as much as trying to work out how to treat the chassis for the future. What sorts of treatments are out there and what do you recommend?

hi there trev1

good to see another hj47 bein brought back to its former glory yes when i did my rebiuld on my beast i went down to a bare chassie and gernied it down looked of any big signs of rust and cracks none found. what i ended up doing was sending the chassie to the powder coaters to be sand blasted and powdercoated looks great in the end and is a tough and extrenly chip resistant finish i have some picks on my build up thread.
will put up some more picks soon of the chassie
