Wiring Diagram wanted for ignition/alarm installation
Hi.
I have just purchased a 1992 feroza, and I was hoping I could find a wiring diagram for it, as I want to repair the alarm which is not wired correctly. I also want to install a CD player properly.
I am having trouble finding a service manual, so I wondered if anmyone has one electronically, or at least, the wiring/electrical section??
Thanks.

Hi, welcome! Your new Feroza looks in excellent nick.
There's a manual for the Feroza HD-E engine that's available to download (~27Mb) that has wiring diagrams in the back of it. I used it to install my alarm and found it accurate.
It's available here:

Brilliant!! That was just what I needed.
I take it our wiring is the same as the GB version, and the color arent different??
My Feroza is in very good nick, so much so in fact, that I was VERY dubious about buying it as it was waay too cheap( over $3000 cheaper than any others I found in Tasmania or victoria) it only has 82000 kms on the clock too!!!!! Got it thoroughly checked by a mechanic and even he said it was a bargain, in the condition it was in.

I found all the colours matched up- just certain options are different. I think you'll have to "wing it" on the stereo though- from memory the wiring is a bit vague in that area.
I know from recently installing a Cd player in mine that there isn't a permanent 12V supply there standard. The factory fitted stereo radio cassette was a pull out job so there was no need for it.......
I can verify the colours of the speaker wires for you if that's any help- they're listed on the top of the factory stereo I've got sitting at home.

You'll find the 12V is there with the ignition in the accessory/ on position; but unless someone has run an extra wire there will be no permanent 12V supply for the memory backup. There's no wire for the instrument lighting either.....
I can't remember if the permanent 12v was available on an unused plug behind the stereo or not? I know I ran the instrument lighting down from the shock absorber control switch.

One thing I DO remember seeing was a new red wire in the engine bay runing from the battery direct thru the firewall to the interior somewhere.
Perhaps this is it?
If not, then I will run one from there with a fuse anyways.
Thanks again for your help.

goforit... welcome to the forums! if you run a wire with a fuse from the batt. into the cab, make sure you place the fuse as close to the batt as possible.... less wire for you to replace and less chance of a fire hazard... cheaper in the long run as well.. also make sure you get it attached to the body as well... and see about putting some insulation over it... to protect it from mud, water, heat, etc etc. have fun!

i am amazed now that the 2 vehicles I own, which are both 'unique', therefore have a strong user following have great forums!!
Though I must admit, the other vehicle (an RGV250 motorbike) I helped create the forums myself!!!!!!!!

http://www.warfs.org have all the manuals avialable for download - every Feroza owner should have them if they want to tinker IMO
( usual disclaimers )
It seemed like a much better idea when I started it than it does now.

Might not be you they are written in Daihatsu..... apparently some people have decyphered sections of the sacred text ( after much trial and effort ) but that's more rumor than fact.
Most of the time I pull it apart - and then read the manual - that way I know exactly where I went wrong with the benift of hindsight. Doesn't work the other way around for me however.
