HZJ75 front brake calipers on a HJ/FJ75

Post by gabe »

Hi,
Can someone please let me know how hard it is to swap HZJ75 front calipers onto my FJ75?

Bolt on or is it more difficult than that.

Good condition HJ/FJ75 stuff is rare as over here in the west.

Cheers

They'll bolt on but either need the later model backing plates or just cut the original plates.

Cutting original backing plates is easy - only ~5mm to take off. I believe later hilux (1988-1997?) are the same as HZ/FZJ75, and i understand v6 'runner/TD surf are bolt on and bigger again (45mm pistons as opposed to 35mm).

Consider using an 80 series master and booster - bolt on with only a simple spacer on the piston shaft involved ;)
