4.2 GU Wagon big Clunk/Bang???

Post by Fmx_Aus »

G'day all,

Got a 4.2 GU Wagon with Auto locking hubs.

Went out for a drive today for the first time (only just bought it).

Now whats the go with the auto hubs? I had her in Low with the hubs on 'auto'. Reversed with the wheels almost at full lock to the right and 'bang' in the right wheel. Jumped out to see wtf was going on and it clunked again with the car moving slightly.

Anyone who has a idea of what it would have been or what I'm doing wrong please let me know.

Only ever owned vehicles with manual locking hubs, so I'm thinking its something I could have done wrong, or maybe something wrong with the right wheel???

Thanks in advance.

Cheers ;)

tipping the auto bit in the hubs is rooted. they rarely work good. try manuel locking , if still doesn't fully engage go manual hubs.
