It is a good idea to brace it. just buy the mounting kit from locktup4x4.

I plated both sides of my chasis rails to install IFS box. Used 8mm plate I think so I didn't have to put crush sleeve in the chasis. After 2 years now no problem and now gone Hydro assist.

mines braced, and when i pulled it down the other weekend i noticed a small hairline crack accross the rails were the radiator support section is.

Weather this is from the x over or from having a dropped hanger (which is also braced back along the lenght of the frame) im unsure.

But the crack is def there! I am thinking of adding a triangle shaped brace between the rad support section and the side of the frame rail.

yeah no worries guys, i have the trail gear box mount but im going to re cut a longer one to brace back to the engine mount on both sides. drilling through the chassis for crush tubes is a pain in the ass though! im also looking at bracing/ gusseting my droped x member as i have it mounted 1inch forward from flush, any one have pics of theres gusseted?
