Coopers LMP

Post by jeepspeed74 »

Anyone who missed the coopers event at cruiser park surely missed a great weekend. U guys with comp trucks and winches have got to be sick of that crap damaging your trucks for no reason. U need to come do a coopers round leave your winch at home. Its boring to watching cars winch like watching grass grow. The coopers series is cool how fast was Ian in the GU ute supercharged 7Litre just awesome.

jeepspeed74 if you don't like winch challenge then don't go but don't bag it... We spend a lot of time and money on our trucks and we have the gut's to hang off a cliff with just a cable as a life line... anyone can dive on a flat track and in a straight line even my Nanna... real men take on obstuctions and adversities in they life it keeps us alive...

Well done Ian (Winch Challenge Man) show them how to wheel...

Alot of the winch challenge boys are making the change over...

Does anyone know how Cory Howe went in his Turbo Deisel GQ shorty?
It FLYS for a TD and the man can wobble the wheel...

Tryn to get some more CQ rigs organised to go down and compete in some of the high speed stuff. There is meant to be about 6-7 cars coming down for Mayday Longweekend at LCMP. A heap of us went down and checked out the Stadium Offroad Racing with rave reviews... bit of a shame that there isn't more photos/info/event details about all of these events available.
There still isn't any new info available about the stadium stuff...
Guess I'll have to wait till the next dirtcomp is out!!!

I agree with btc75 . I started out doing mayday and mud bulls and now I am into winch challenges flat track is fun but as with most sports it gets boring .
digsy my navi went down to the last coopers and came around 7or 8 and coory came 1st deisel and not sure on overall. but wardy is hooked for now but he said that there was more carnage at the last coopers then at the last winch comp.
cheers crazy eyes

Would be good to see more challenge trucks in the coopers series. It sure aint no flat track it is one of the toughest 4x4 rallies u could enter and the pace at the front is fierce. Corey Howe went awesome 3rd outright 1st in class. There is going to be a real fight to the end hopefully Corey comes back for the remainder rounds. Ben de Brueys was again lightining fast in the standard jeep cherokee and actually led the event early only to get 2 flat tires. Ians Gu did not miss a beat and Ben had to settle for second outright. Yes the stadium event at toowoomba was great and hopefully it really takes off it is great for the spectators. Good to see u guys that travel from rocky etc for these events. Bring more trucks.
Im here for the sausage!

I like a good winch challenge as much as the next bloke but after going to the stadium stuff there is no way you could say that winch challenge is better to watch than racing door to door on a moto track! Jumps, climbs and door to door racing with V8 trucks jumping 30 ft... And the Brewski built XJ rubbing doors with the Chapmans Pajero!
No offence boys but who has the fastest winch and navi is GREAT as a competitor... little dull for the crowd...
Rocky XWC only gets the crowd that it does because rocky is a Motorsport town... IMAGINE STADIUM TRUCKS AT ROCKY SHOWGROUND! It would be full!

Anyway I know it's each to it's own... but I definately think most of the rocky boys are leaning towards that sort of racing now.
Again not taking anything away from the winch boys but I think with most winch challenges if you really wanted to make it spectator friendly it would be about a 25% rate of people driving the hill... The spectators want to see people giving the hills a good chop not every car winching. People are there for the action...
