i was gunna point that out.... any where you have guys and you start measuring thing..... horsepower, lift, tyres, breasts.... etc etc it is goin to become a pissing contest for some...
I too think this thread could be worth while. I have a couple very quick toys... and my patrol which is my daily, and tow vehicle, and occasional offroader. I'm always curious about which engine setups actually produce good useable power, and relative cost of install and running.
ps. if that rex is runnin 140+ mph on the 1/4, then the horsepower claim would be pretty accurate in my opinion (given differences in dynos). and probably would run in the 3 sec 0-100 club for a 10 sec pass.
Cheers

And you find 0-100km/h in low 6 second bracket unbelievable why exactly...? I haven't been in it when it's been timed, but I have been in it when he repeatedly (3 times) took off a 350Z, ahead by around a bonnet length at 100km/h.bogged wrote:na, low 6 minutes. the clutch is slipping remember... someone needs to change the thread title to PISSIN COMPbj on roids wrote:Low 6's to 100kph? Major clutch slippage so a new one will be going in soon.
He's had two VL's previously, one did 12.4 over the quarter mile (0-100 in 4.7s), the other slightly slower (unknown quarter mile time, about 5.4s 0-100). He's running a similar setup to the VL Calais that did the quarter mile in 12.4 so should be putting out similar flywheel horsepower, just pushing a heavier and less aerodynamic vehicle.
Will post dyno sheet for the non-believers once he has one. He was knocked off his bike last week so the Patrol is on the backburner for a bit while he recovers, but it will be dyno'd once the new clutch is in. This thread is not a pissin comp - some people are actually interested in performance on road as well as off
theres a few choppa heads on this site and they are serial offenders for being negative. If you dont like the thread f off and go to another its that easy.
I thought it might have been interesting to find things out like a 4.2 patrol with standard springs might take 15 seconds to get to 100 but the same car with a 5" lift might take 18sec so people could see what effects different mods do.
I personally would like to know what someone with a 2.8 gu patrol does it in

nissan 98 gu 5" lift 37 creepys, 80%reduction gears, front locker and a gen3 and no money.
my zuk will get to 100 in about 15 secs or so - havent timed it properly or pushed it hard while guestimating the time either though... i prefer to get to 60 fast, most of the main roads in metro WA are 60-80km/hr limit anyway.
now - a more relevant thread for us is how fast can you go round a 90 degree corner on the road? =) lol

My Paj would do it in 2.5 seconds to 100km/h oh sorry , I meant 25 seconds for my 2.5 litre intercooled turbo diesel. I upgraded the fuel pump, increased boost to about 12psi and put a 2.5" exhaust on it and have 60kw at 4 wheels and 591nm of torque (as stated on dyno back in 07). My 1.3 litre Holden Drover would probably do it in 20 seconds... the G13A is a bit faster, more responsive (and more fun) than my 4D56!
1990 NG Paj TDI: 2.5 exhaust, 146l Longranger tank, snorkel, 2" suspension lift, 31" Bighorns.
1985 Holden Drover: 2" OME suspension & shocks, extractors, 2" exhaust, 235/75 MTR's

GRIMACE wrote:For people interested in stock car figures, my range rover (3.9L v8) does it in just over 10seconds (approx, never had it officially timed). It's got a haltech and exhaust/extractors fitted. On pissy little 28" rubber.
Once the bigger rubber goes on the time will double, I can almost guarantee that
For those of you interested in stock car figures, here's some times from my modified car..

My TJ with it's 4.0L petrol six, stock 29" tyres and stock 3.07 diff gearing did 0-100 in about 9 seconds.
When i went to larger MT/R's, lift, extra accessories (weight) etc, that increased to about 11-12 seconds. However since i had the diff gears done it's now back down to about 10 seconds.
cheers

Counting in my head (so massively inaccurate) I estimated about 13-15 seconds.
