stuck trying to get old drums over new shoes
As the title says - I've fitted new shoes to my 88 Pajero's rear end but for the life of me cannot get the drums back over them.
I've backed the adjuster right off as far as it'll go, but there's still a good 5mm of room I need to make to fit the drum on.
It's kind of like the pistons in the slave cylinder need to go in further but won't.
Any suggestions? The manual is no help, it just says to do what I have done already.

Just came back in from trying to push the pistons in further with the bleed nut cracked. No go unfortunately, it's obvious they're in as far as they can go.
Scott, does the handbrake adjustment need to be backed off? The handbrake's off, but that's my next though.
That said, I'm half wondering if I have the right shoes or not. I mean, where they sit at the bottom is fixed, and the top's in as far as it goes.

sometimes place the drum partly on to say left shoe place ur hand on drum with a bit of weight pushing away from left shoe then tap other side with metal hammer, works on mine, oh and make sure shoes are around right way

beinthemud that's what I ended up doing, tapping it with a screwdriver in the notch in the shoe body.
