Daihatsu Detriot Locker for sale.

Post by BundyRumandCoke »

No, its not one of mine. Saw this on ebay, in Brisbane. I can confirm it is definately a Detriot Locker inside the diff centre.

It says Daihatsu Rocky, Is this vehicle the Feroza or the Fourtrak or Rugger? If it is for the Feroza does this mean that once upon a time, Detroit lockers are avaialble for the Feroza? Tia :)

Damn that's tempting.

Did they change the front diff at all in the later models?

Its the Rocky/Rugger/Fourtrak.

As far as I know, only 1 model of the Detriots was made for Daihatsus, wich fitted the earlier F70/75/80/85's. It MAY also fit the F65's, assuming they have the same centres.

The reference to the ute in the ad is interesting, as I thought the utes had a one off track, a bit wider than the standard Rockys, and may have also had a different axle spline count. And to be honest, its been so long since I fitted mine, I cant remember if spline count matters, as I cant remember if the diff uses the original side gears.

Well, given the rarity, or the complexity of fitting another brand axle so you can spend more money on an airlocker, $1000 would actually be fairly cheap, given the improvement it makes.

Which makes the possible the sale of my Rocky in the future an interesting prospect.

Too rich for my blood. I was watching, thinking... its mid morning, bids are only around the $600 mark... maybe everyone who's interested is at work and I'll get it for under 800.....

At $1300 I'm better of just welding and slowly going through my 3 sets of spare diffs :D

OK point taken. Thanks
If anyone is interested offer a fair price. Price is always negotiable. It was never fixed to begin with.
