New to 4 wheel driving, needing advice please.
Hi,
I am new to 4 wheel driving and I am just wondering what are some good wheels to buy?
I am buying a 4 runner Toyota and I will be using it mostly for road - all round and I would really like to get into 4 wheel driving off-road and some small tracks, beach, camping etc.
I am wondering what are the best wheels to get and where if possible (QLD, Gold Coast).
I have heard, all terrain wheels are all round, sand, mud, dirt, rock, road?

go to your local tyre guy and get a bunch of catalogues. can probably use the search function on here and find some threads on tyres that will help you out as well
Al terrains are ok for road sand etc... if you get something like a mud terrain and go on the beach you will probably just dig yourself a hole... if you read up a bit on the basics you will find out whats best suited and will also learn about what pressures to run your tyres at as well as what the best size is, thats legal and practicle for your needs. good luck and welcome to the world of 4WDriving

I love them; they are the best all-round tyre out there. But if it's mostly road and dirt tracks, they are probably a bit more noisy and aggressive than necessary.bogged wrote:Goodyear MTR's
I still reckon a good A/T, on the aggressive side for an A/T but not quite as aggro as the goodyear mtrs.
This is not legal advice.
If you're near enough to Brisbane, it's very simple. Talk to Ryan (Ryano on here) from Fourbys tyre shop at Moorooka. He is simply the 4WD wheel and tyre god.
Give him a call or email (ask for Ryan!) and tell him your needs, he will give you the best non biased option based on your needs and budget
