The thread in the general section bought me back to an old question.
What was the claimed 0-100 time for a 3.5 carbed rangie?
How about the 3.9's?

Dunno how trustworthy the source is but I found 16.0 seconds for a 1979 3.5 here:

Seems plausible.
Then again the same table claims 13.9 for a 1970 RR. Also plausible I guess.
11 seconds for the 3.9. The 4.6 is supposed to be about 9.3 seconds (different source). And the 4.4 bimmer motor makes for a rather quick 8.3 seconds.

Sweet, so my Isuzu powered rangie is now faster than the V8 petrol was.
Mine was originally carbed 3.5 four door so heavier and slower than the early 2 doors would have been.

My 3.9 will get me to 100ks in just over 10 seconds (approx).
Once the bigger rubber goes on it will take 20

check with slunnie but I believe the TD5 is also quicker than the early v8's....unless they have had work done to make them special

Well about a couple of years ago a D2 TD5 tried to drag me from the M2 tolls.
My chipped RRC 3.9 had 5 adults aboard and he was alone.
He kept up for about the first 15 metres then went backwards at an astonishing rate.

Same principal as my haltech Nottie. They do require dyno time.
