Anyone got any tips on how I go about finding the fault with the speedo on my FJ45? The needle doesn't move. Is the best way to test the cable just to remove the instrument cluster, drive the vehicle and see if the cable spins or not?

FJ45 - speedo not working

I have just been doing the same to mine after a split transfer upgrade.
If you replace the cable and still no luck, pull the instrument cluster off. Unless you're passion fingers they are pretty easy to pull apart and nut out how they all work. Simple mechanicals then. Just test each component at a time. I find the old lube in this area tends to harden and jams up. The reason I believe the odometers stop.
Good luck
