just wondering if 33x12.5 15 tyres will fit on a standard mq swb patrol?

I would say they would fit, but would rub when turning or flexing. 33x10.5 would be better, of just fit some lift shackles / body lift.

Just try it and see, every car is different, espcially when its 20 years old.

They will fit. I ran standard rims with Nankang 33x12.5 and they only just rubbed on the chassis. Go for it.

Heck worst case you'll need some slightly extended shackles to make it okay. Start bodging it up!

counter point for you - I put 33" MT/Rs on my 82 SWB MQ *after* a 2" BL and found I had about 10mm clearance if that. Without the BL I'm sure I would have scrubbed when turning at least.

Still, too many variables to be sure (actual tyre size, etc.), and has a lot to do with how much the leaves have sagged over the years.
