The SWB Frontera has a rear coil setup from factory right? I thought it was the same setup as the Jack. What does yours consist of?

Mines not an aftermarket 4-link if thats what you mean. I think you will find that yours is a factory 4-link like mine. This means 2 x lower control arms, 1 x upper control arm (attached to diff pumpkin), and 1 x panhard rod (as can be seen in the 1st pic). To get more travel you could try and find some longer travel shocks and maybe some sort of swaybar disconnect system... Or remove swaybar completely (as long as you are aware of the legality issues in doing such a thing).

Hey, thats some pretty decent flex. Pretty similar to mine I reakon. Might be worth just testing it out with the swaybars disco'd. Something that I havent tried myself yet...

Rear swaybars SUCK!!! Pull it out!!!!
I removed the rear one from my JAck and it made a huge difference in rear flex. I wouldn't remove the front though.

Mitch (frontie), im pretty sure you have a 5 link under the frontera. Just stick your head under it and count the links, too easy hey :D . From memory there should be 2 lover links, 2 upper links and a panhard rod on fronteras, and a 4 link style on the jackeroos. Will have a look at work tomorrow and check anyway.

No look at the picture there is Two Lowers and Only one upper on the diff pumpkin ?? Which is damned odd.. + Panhard rod.

Eh ?? does this have any ill effects on road what about off road ?? I have never seen that before...

It is like a 5 link with stuff missing... ??

I had assumed that this is a fairly common design for a 4 link. What does the usual 4 link look like?

Yep! Seems fairly normal lookin to me too.

4 link has the potential to flex better then 5 link cos the single upper arm will bind less then 2x upper arms of a 5 link. and the Frontera LH upper arm gets very personal with the fuel tank when lifted and flexed.

When the word 4 link is mentioned Triangulation springs to my mind at least.. I have never seen that before honest..

Do you get a lot of wear in the upper arm bushes ??

2x lower control arms, - attached near the brakes
1x upper control arm, - attached to the pumpkin and crossmember
1x panhard rod, - attached to passenger side frame, to driver side axle housing

the jackeroo 4 link is capable of flexing high enough to the front wheel nearly a meter in the air and remain on the ground. but longer break lines and schocks are required. as well as some serius coil retainers.

tried it on a mates 2002 jackeroo.

some pics of the travel in this thread.

^if you get it that far, you need to get heavy duty lower control arms, they WILL bend if you're not careful (not an issue at the stocko or +2" angles)
