f100 rims fit a jimny??
f100 rims fit a jimny??
Hey all,
went to price some wheels and tyres for jimmy the jimny today, and the guy just kinda assumed through his experience that 16" ford f100 rims bolt straight onto the jimmy? - his "yeah, pretty sure" attitude didnt instill alot of confidence. $110 each for 'dynamic' rims also sounded dear - I though steel rims were about half that price?
also got quoted $269 each for 5 x kumho kl71 225 75 r 16's....
he pretty much had the same attitude as to whether the tyres would fit.. sort of a 'yeah, they should be right" response.
so.. are the f100 16" rims going to go straight on?
also, anyone actually fitted 225 75 r 16 to a stock jimny? ( will possibly be doing a 50mm spring lift in the near future.

They may be that price because of the fact they are 16".
The only constructive thing i have to offer is that i payed $75.00 a rim for king racing wheels (standard white ones in whatever brand they sold would have only been $50 a peice) and payed $190 a tyre for maxxis trepadors.
If your unhappy with the service or the price, shop around. I did and i ended up contacting someone off a forum who worked up the coast, thinking driving would be cheaper but he directed me to guy in my area and i got awesome service at much better prices than i got just cold calling.
Shop around. Ask around. It pays off, especially if your in a trade where services can be exchanged.

i went to buy some 15x8 f100 rims the other day and was told that ROH and speedy had stopped making them and they would havce to come from the east at $110 not including freight. This was from 4 major rim suppliers.
Why dont you run a 15" rim, they should be easier to find a 2nd hand set
if they fit over your brakes and stuff, i dont know much about the new models.

You don't need a 16" rim on a jimny so suss out some 15X7" steel rims and whatever brand, they all look the same. Shouldn't cost you any more than $70 a rim and I'm pretty sure 0 offset or a little in the negative should be about perfect fit on a jimny. For reference my ex missus has my old 235/75/15's on stock jimny mags and she's got 60mm suspension lift or there abouts. All that was needed was a slight trim of the front bumper.

Do F100 rims come in a 15x7? I heard that they are a perfect offset for bigger tyres on a Zook...
King Wheels are highly recommended... I've had nothing but great service from the guys... and the X-90 is on their website too

DRS smells like a cat-food milkshake... and wet socks... and gorgonzola cheese... all whizzed up in a blender
For starters stop calling aftermarket rims F100 rims as it just adds to confusion, a rim is just a rim to fit a desired pcd. What you want is the stud pattern pcd and offset you need and just find a rim to suit. Search the internet for wheel manufaturers and check their online catalogues that's what I did. And there is a wheel thread with extensive info already, it should be in the bible.
