Gearbox troubles/swaps

Post by PIGGY_PAJERO »

Hey guys,

I have tried searching for ages and can't find any hard evidence of what i want to know, if i have missed this being answered before, sorry :D.

My question is, is a sigma 5 speed manual box same as a pajero box? Will a sigma box fit into my pajero with the transfer bolted on the back?

Again sorry if its been asked, but i can't find an exact answer.

Thanksyou.

Andrew. :)

Thats the issue though, the price second hand for one is bull, ranging from 700 to 1500 exchange, (i'm not kidding) and the only reason i really want one is because i need it to model my SR20 conversion. MNy gearbox is a little tired, but i can rebuild it, i only really want one for measurement purposes, if a sigma also fit it would be an advantage.

What was it that failed about them?

Also, do you know if all the bolt pattern and spline/input shaft mneasures are exactly the same?

the bolt pattern on the back of the block on a pajero is the same as a scorpion 2.6 5speed, spline and everything is the same, it will bolt in, u will only be able to run rwd tho, as apparently the transfer wont bolt up unless u use the scorpion internals in the pajero housing, its just an arse around, if u were closer id offer u one of my pajero 5speeds, got a whole turbo diesel na out the back that owes me 150 buks lol, must just get lucky up here, good luck with it m8, if u need to kno any specifics give the guys from RPW a call, they have done these types of things b4 and have helped me out of a few sticky situations, cheers Dan

Thanks for the info mate. Well as long as the spline and bolt patern are the same then atleast i can buy a sigma box to get my measurements i need. Thanks for the box offer to, as you say if it wasn't so far away. I looked up google maps too, and didnt relise that cairns is 22 hours away! Haha.

How much you reckon shipping would be? :P

more than the cost of the box id be guessing lol, i kno a diff centre from cairns to brissy is $90, so a gearbox and transfer would have to be around $200,
